“Interview Basics” Workshop a Great Success!

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Senior Vice President, Michael Hill, both weeks of recruitment were a huge success! All the events had a good turnout of both brothers and prospectives. One of the events that was held on February 11, 2010 was the “Interview Basics” workshop. This event was hosted by the Vice President of Professional Activities, Matt Tee, and myself, the Vice President of Alumni Relations. However, it was conducted by the alumni and it was a great success! This event involved a large amount of interaction between current brothers, prospectives, and a solid group of Lambda Sigma alumni. The purpose behind this event was to allow the alumni to offer their expertise about the business world and specifically the interviewing process to prospectives and brothers. There were groups of 5-6 brothers and prospectives with two alumni per group. The alumni spoke about the basics of interviewing and the differences between personal, group, and phone interviews. The alumni were then given a mock company scenario and conducted mock interviews with their group. Lastly, the alumni gave all the group members evaluations on what they did well and what they could improve on for the future. This event was a great opportunity for the alumni to get to know the brothers and vice versa, along with the prospectives.

I would like to give a very special thanks to the Lambda Sigma alumni who participated: Bhoumik Sheth, Rishi Dhiri, Anita Chhann, Rick de la Torre, Kevin Matsushima, Patrick Bonfrisco, Kathy Nguyen, Janet Tominaga, Maressa Sah, Kencarol James, Danric Jaime, Hau Lau, and Ivan Garcia! This could not have been as successful without your help and participation; thank you! =)
